Clementina Saduwa (nee Vincent-Uvieghara) In Memoriam Clementina, Tina to her friends, was active in mentoring young women around the world, particularly in her home country Nigeria. Tina – an electronics engineer - served as IEEE’s Women in Engineering Coordinator for Africa, Europe and the Middle East. She participated in the 2006 Global Marathon For, By and About Women in Engineering and this past September was part of a panel at a United Nations conference discussing STEM careers and opportunities for young women. In January, Clementina was killed in a random act of violence and leaves behind her husband and young daughter. She was 29 years old. Clementina was an outstanding role model and will be missed. By remembering her during this 2007 global marathon we celebrate her life. IEEE’s WIE plans to announce a WIE scholarship in her name. This scholarship could change the life of a young Nigerian woman trying to pursue an engineering career. See Clementina’s presentation from the 2006 Marathon |
