2. Cyberchase: Math in Science and Engineering Guide Wins Award
The Cyberchase: Math in Science and Engineering Activity Guide has won the 2006 Distinguished Achievement for Excellence in Educational Publishing Award from the Association of Educational Publishers. The guide was recognized in the "Teacher Resource Book" category for books that help teachers extend instructional practice. Teacher resources often include specific tips and classroom suggestions.

"We at AEP applaud the ingenuity and intense efforts of all the finalists and winners in this year's Awards Program," said AEP Board President Jo-Ann McDevitt. "Their devotion to bringing the most engaging and stimulating educational materials to life is an inspiration to all of us, throughout all facets of education."

Math in Science and Engineering was created by WNET-NY (PBS) with counsel from National Engineers Week Foundation staff member Anne Squire and volunteers Rick McMaster of IBM and John Kampmeyer, PE, coordinator of the National Engineers Week Future City Competition for the Philadelphia area. The guide is a valuable toolkit for volunteer engineers working to link mathematics to engineering for young elementary school students. The kit is provided for free by the National Engineers Week Foundation and Cyberchase outreach division.

The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) is a national, nonprofit association devoted to serving and advancing the supplemental educational publishing industry. Click here to see the complete awards announcement.
