Design Squad is right at home at (MS)2, whose mandate is to prepare middle school students to study and pursue careers in math, science and engineering through innovation and technology. Students had a sneak preview of the show, participated in a hands-on engineering activity, and had the opportunity to interact with one of the show's hosts and a Design Squad contestant. Students from Howard University were trained in hands-on Design Squad activities to work with the young students that day. Read more about Design Squad. The National Engineers Week Foundation is a Design Squad partner.

Founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers Week (February 18-24, 2007) is celebrated annually by thousands of engineers, engineering students, teachers, and leaders in government and business. In 1988, the National Engineers Week consortium expanded its scope and now includes more than 100 engineering, scientific, and education societies and major corporations dedicated to enhancing the public understanding of the engineering profession and to promoting pre-college interest in math, science, and engineering as a career option.
