Like a Challenge?

Enter the National Academy of Engineering's EngineerGirl! Website Essay Contest. Engineers are dreamers. They think up things and figure out ways to make them happen. By the year 2020, engineers will have invented things and solved problems we can only dream about today.

The Challenge: Do you see problems with the way we
(1) communicate,
(2) treat the environment,
(3) protect our health,
(4) protect ourselves, our country, our property and belongings, or
(5) the way we travel?

Imagine that it's 2020 and the problem has been solved. How? Has a new invention been created? Have new processes been developed?

Who Can Enter? The contest is open to individual girls and boys and teams of up to 6 students. There are two age categories: grades 4-8 and grades 9-12.

For more details on how to enter and the cash prizes, visit www.engineergirl.org and follow the link to the essay contest.
