The Best of Our Knowledge - Air Date: 3/24/08

New research is showing why relatively few women choose engineering careers.

Glenn Busby Co-host and producer of The Best of Our Knowledge, has made a special commitment to report on important developments in educational research. At every college and university there is a great deal of research being conducted which could potentially have a dramatic impact on the ways in which we educate our students, from the lower grades right through graduate school. Unfortunately, all too often the results of that research are relegated to a shelf somewhere, or are only seen by the small number of people who actually read the scholarly journals. There is no question that the work is being done -- the problem is, once it's done, the people in a position to benefit from it most haven't often gotten a chance to hear about it. The Best of Our Knowledge is a production of WAMC/Northeast Public Radio's National Productions in Albany, N.Y.
