Ruth Shelley
Vice President, Silicon Design, AMD
Ruth Shelley is a Vice President in CPG Silicon Design at AMD. Ruth is responsible for managing the product development activities at AMD’s Boston Design Center as well as for the Northbridge IP development, and two global organizations within CPG Silicon Design – the Technology Center of Expertise and the Verification Center of Expertise.
Ruth joined AMD in 2002 as Director of Engineering. It was in this role, that Ruth helped establish the Boston Design Center taking the operation from ground breaking to over 300 employees in five years. Ruth also managed the site’s transition from an internal chipset development focus to contributing to processor development.
Prior to joining AMD, Ruth served as Vice President of Engineering at API NetWorks, Inc., a leading developer of high-performance, high-density Linux server hardware. At API, Ruth was part of the team that entered into a joint development agreement with AMD to develop HyperTransport which became our interface to I/O in the K8 generation.
Throughout her career, Ruth also held various engineering management positions at a number of companies including Kendall Square Research, Apollo Computer, Avid Technology, and Data General Corp.
Ruth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
