Susan Rexford
Susan Rexford is the current president of the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC), a regional affiliate of NACAC – the National Association for College Admission Counseling. Previously she served as the Professional Development Chair for PCACAC and co-chaired the PCACAC Summer Mini-institute, a training program for high school and college admission counselors.
She has presented numerous sessions at the state, regional, and national level on using technology in the college advising process; and is a contributing author (Technology in College Counseling) in NACAC’s recently released Fundamentals of College Admission Counseling. Since 2002 she has participated as a panelist with the US Department of Education in their annual counselor training video for federal financial aid.
For the past twenty years she has served as the Career Specialist at West Springfield High School in Fairfax County, VA, where she guides students through their college and career decision making process. She holds a BA in History and an MA in Political Science. In 1999 she was selected as the Fairfax County Public Schools Employee of the Year and was the 2004 recipient of the A. Heath Onthank Award, Fairfax County’s highest award, for outstanding contribution to the advancement and improvement of public service in Fairfax County. In 2006, she was one of the recipients of the Margaret Addis Service to NACAC Award. |
