| Libraries - Here's How to Participate: Contact local engineering colleges and businesses and ask them to help sponsor an Engineering Day or Week at the library. Or, take the library to them. Create a book display, place signs in public areas, or provide suggested titles for employees' children. Here are a few examples of what others have done. - In Ridgecrest (CA), the local library and engineers created a month-long display of photos of engineers on the job as well as engineering tools and products, such as compact disks and cosmetics.
- At the Bakken Library and Museum in Minneapolis (MN) guests got an up-close look at an artificial heart and learned about heart valves. Volunteers helped them make simple valves to take home.
- In Dallas (TX), the Preston Royal branch featured children's egg drop contests (drop an egg in the best crash-resistant container) and making pop-up books for all ages.
