ZOOM INTO ENGINEERING TOOLKIT

The ZOOM INTO ENGINEERING Toolkit is composed of the following:

• Activity guide—With its hands-on activities and teaching strategies, this guide provides the basics engineers need to plan workshops and events for the kids in their community. 
• CD-ROM—Expanding on the activity guide, the ZOOM INTO ENGINEERING CD-ROM offers in-depth information and resources for working with kids, setting up events and workshops, and training other engineers. It includes:
• Self-directed tutorial—Building on the lessons learned from the BUILDING BIG Engineer Training, this interactive tutorial provides engineers insights on how kids learn, offers effective tips for leading activities with kids, and outlines the logistics behind setting up workshops and events. 
• Colorful signs and reproducible activity hands-outs—Displayed at events or workshops, these pieces give engineers the tools they need to connect their activities to ZOOM. 
• PowerPoint training workshop—Engineers can use this resource to train colleagues and friends on how to work with kids.
• ZOOM video—Featuring clips of the ZOOM cast doing the same activities found in the guide, the video can be played at events to capture kids' interest and make the connection to ZOOM.
• Participant give-aways – Pencils and balloons with the ZOOM Into Engineering logo may be used as hand-outs, special incentives, or as part of the activities.
