Herbie Hancock and Derrick Adkins

Herbie Hancock

All Star

Job:
Jazz musician. Hancock has retained permanent and prominent spots in the music industry since the 1970s. He is the winner of more than 20 industry awards, including three Grammy awards.

Education:
B.A. in music composition with two years of studies in electrical engineering, Grinnell College. The electronic influences in his music are pleasantly apparent and provide a unique and unmistakable sound.

Derrick Adkins

Derrick Adkins

Job:
Adkins continues to compete in track & field events and is the world's top-ranked 400-meter hurdler. He credits some of his success to his knowledge of science and engineering. He won the gold medal for the 400-meter hurdles at the 1996 Olympic games.

Education:
B.S. in mechanical engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
