Patricia Jane Walker
Patricia Jane WalkerPatricia “Tricia” Jane Walker is a catheter design engineer with Accellent, Inc. in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where she uses her experience to aid in catheter design and manufacturing. Her unique approach to design employs integrated design tools to compress the development cycle, thus achieving rapid, high quality, and innovative design to the customer.

Walker previously worked as an R&D engineer and engineering supervisor at Catheter and Disposables Technology, Inc. and aided in the design, development, and management of over 20 medical devices used in the cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, nervous, reproductive, and skeletal systems. Walker is an active member in the Society of Women Engineers on the local, regional and national levels. As the Professional Development Co-Chair for Minnesota, she helped coordinate 20 events in a two-year time span.

Tracy Van Houten
Tracy Van HoutenTracy Van Houten is a lead systems engineer for the National Aeronautics & Space Administration’s (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California where she provides technical oversight and leadership for the cross-disciplinary design Team X, that travels to a different planet each week to perform conceptual mission architecture and spacecraft design studies. Her engineering skills have been recognized by NASA, leading to her role as project systems engineer on two Mars mission proposals submitted to NASA Headquarters.

Van Houten has co-authored two technical papers and was quoted in a TIME magazine article featuring JPL and Team X. She is also a dedicated member of the Society of Women Engineers, serving on the national Collegiate Interest Committee, and helping to organize and provide training at the annual Collegiate Leadership Forum, a three-day event designed to recognize and develop outstanding leaders among SWE’s collegiate members.

Jennifer Braganza
Jennifer BraganzaJennifer Braganza is a faculty associate at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she teaches “Introduction to Engineering” and advises freshmen, and is also the Director of MAPS, a student development and success program at the university. Braganza started her career as a product development engineer for a global automotive supplier where she developed tires for Ford and GM vehicles. She then switched and became globally responsible for the platform of light truck tires.

Braganza has been a member of the Society of Women Engineers since 1996 and currently serves as the Charlotte-Metrolina section president and chair-elect of the Professional Development Committee.

Mandee E. Brandt
Mandee E. BrandtMandee E. Brant is a transportation engineer with URS Corporation in Orlando, Florida, whose contributions directly affect the daily lives of Central Floridians, from work commutes to running errands. Brandt launched her career by developing construction cost estimates, preparing final design drawings, and laying out the maintenance of traffic plans for such projects as the Old Winter Garden Road Widening and Reconstruction and the SR 426 Design. Brandt has recently expanded her knowledge base, transitioning from roadway engineering into drainage design.

Brandt is a Life member of the Society of Women Engineers and participates in events such as Sally Ride Science Festivals and Teach-In through Orange County Public Schools. She is committed to helping her community learn the importance of engineering.
