Engineers Make a World of Difference

Engineer Nominated By the Society of Petroleum Engineers

Christine BourgeoisChristine Bourgeois

Christine Bourgeois, an appraisal engineer with Chevron’s Deepwater Exploration Business Group in Houston, Texas, is an expert on deepwater assets.

In her first job, Bourgeois was maintaining well performance at a deepwater well, and she quickly progressed to managing the production of an entire field of wells.  This work enables the increased recovery of reserves from a frontier area, which will add to the supply of energy that comes from the Gulf of Mexico to help meet the United State’s energy needs.

Since graduating from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s in petroleum engineering, Bourgeois has rapidly achieved leadership positions in the Society of Petroleum (SPE) New Orleans section; serving as secretary, treasurer and chairman.  She received the SPE’s Young Member Outstanding Service Award in 2005.  Bourgeois is an active member in the Louisiana State University Society of Women Engineers and has promoted careers in energy in New Orleans schools.
