Capt. Marc Tkach, P.E.Capt. Marc Tkach, P.E.

Captain Marc Tkach, P.E., is Chief of Operations with the U.S. Air Force. While in Iraq, he satisfied the Coalition Forces Air Component Commander’s number one engineering priority, reconstructing Balad’s (60 miles north of Baghdad) main runway and putting it into service.

While in Iraq, Tkach, Chief of Engineering for Balad AB, engineered a complex series of projects, restoring runway and lighting systems while simultaneously constructing a parking apron to relocate Army combat helicopters, which had been using the runway for parking.  He identified a design flaw that would have left half the airfield without fire, crash and rescue support and his innovative solution allowed combat missions to continue with no lapse in service.

Currently, Tkach serves as Chief of Operations, charged with conducting the day to day operations of the 5,000 person Davis-Montham Air Force Base in Arizona.  He oversees 300 people in ten trades and is an active volunteer in the community.  Tkach has been involved in coaching MATHCOUNTS, volunteering at the local elementary school and  working with Habit for Humanity,
