Kerry A. ReikKerry A. Reik

Kerry A. Reik, a control system engineer with Applied Control Engineering in Newark, Delaware, works with pharmaceutical customers to increase efficiency and tracking using automation.

Reik graduated with a chemical engineering degree and now assists customers meet Food and Drug Administration requirements in the area of computer and control system validation. She has been active in SWE since college and is currently president of the DelMar Peninsula Section

Julie M. GrimJulie M. Grim

Julie M. Grim is a project engineer with Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Grim helps corporations and communities improve public health and safety by ensuring that their facilities are compliant with environmental regulations. Last year, Grim served as the Society of Women Engineers Central Indiana Section President.

Katie McCulloughKatie McCullough

Katie McCullough, a facility risk engineer with Magellan Midstream Partners in Tulsa, Oklahoma, supports the Kansas City Region of a refined products pipeline system that delivers energy products to consumers across the nation.

McCullough’s current position focuses on minimizing the safety and environmental risks at the facilities by evaluating the equipment and overall design of the processes. She impacts the communities, employees and environment by minimizing leak risks and safety hazards. In her previous position as a member of the Professional Development Program, McCullough expanded the company’s customer reach by streamlining installations that allowed new customers to load product at their facilities. Another tour of duty allowed her to work in Operations at a gas processing plant. One of her accomplishments was a complete training program for other young engineers working in the plant.

Active in the community, McCullough participated in Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Bring Your Child to Work Day and numerous college recruiting activities. She shares engineering with young students by speaking to classes and facilitating hands-on activities during National Engineers Week. She is also the secretary of her local SWE chapter.

Jennifer PufferJennifer Puffer

Jennifer Puffer, a civil/environmental engineer for Des Moines (Iowa) Water Works, develops, designs, tests, and implements projects to provide safe drinking water to a metro area of approximately 300,000 people.

Puffer’s work as the project manager for a new 10-million-gallon-per-day drinking water treatment plant will increase the distribution of safe drinking water for the growing community. The project involves selecting a site for the new treatment plant, developing a raw water collection system, pilot testing new equipment, and designing the treatment processes to be used. The project also encompasses developing a connection to the existing water distribution system, coordination of construction, and start-up of operations. Puffer is active in the Society of Women Engineers and in educating the community on water treatment and conservation.
