| Engineers Nominated By The Society of Manufacturing Engineers Jorge L. Sesin Jorge L. Sesin, a sales and application engineer with Robishaw Engineering, Inc. in Houston, Texas, works in the inland offshore construction industry. Robishaw Engineering, Inc, fabricates sectional barges used to support cranes, excavators, and other construction equipment needed to work on water-based projects such as bridges, docks, and dams. Sesin is in charge of all Latin American projects. His major achievements include working on the two largest bridges ever constructed in Mexico, as well as assisting Gilbert Construction with their platform design for the reconstruction of an Interstate 40 bridge after its collapse. Active in SME since college, Sesin currently serves as the youngest-ever chairman of the SME Houston Chapter. He has established a nationally recognized engineer mentor program that keeps young engineers involved in continuing education. Jorge@flexifloat.com James Tremel James Tremel, a development engineer for DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, led a team that redesigned a debris extraction system for a DuPont display mass production line in Taiwan. The improved version eliminated a “feathering” defect in the product that was causing a 100 percent rejection rate. Tremel also dedicated three seasons to mentoring high school students in a national robotics competition sponsored by US FIRST. His student team took first prize in year one.
