| ENGINEERS NOMINATED BY THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS
Janine Barnes,
P.E., an engineer with Clark Nexsen Architecture and Engineering in Norfolk, Virginia, is responsible for site development, storm water quality and quantity analysis, utility design, roadway design, and environmental reports.
Barnes serves as the Sustainable Design Liaison for the Civil Department. She is the primary point of contact to help promote and implement environmentally pleasing civil engineering projects.
Charlotte Maddox,
P.E., an engineer at PBS&J in Tampa, Florida, has been the lead engineer and project manager for several large-scale water supply projects.
Maddox, identified as
‘A Trendsetter for Engineering’ in Florida Trend Magazine (November 2002), received three awards for project excellence. One recognized a plan to preserve the pristine nature of Clearwater Harbor; another explored using excess stream flow as a potable water source; and the third commended remediation efforts at an abandoned pistol range. Maddox studied alternative water supply sources for a local water management district. She is assistant manager for Gulf Coast Desalination, which proposes seawater as an alternate drinking water source, and manages reclaimed water projects for the Cities of Tampa, Clearwater, and Largo. She was honored as the Florida Engineering Society’s
State 2001 Young Engineer of the Year.
Brad Rosello,
P.E., an engineer the U.S. Coast Guard in Washington D.C., manages technical reviews of U.S. commercial passenger vessels under 100 gross tons.
Rosello performs analysis of stability and structures plans and calculations ensuring the safety of thousands of passengers and compliance with U.S. laws, regulations, and international treaties. Other duties include forensic analysis to assist Coast Guard investigators in determining the root cause of vessel casualties. Rosello is also a member of the salvage and engineering response team which provides 24/7 technical support to local Coast Guard unit’s during emergency response operations.
Mark Spanioli,
P.E., an engineer at Bermello, Ajamil and Partners in Miami, Florida, is experienced in civil engineering, roadway engineering, and site engineering of large-scale government and private projects.
Spanioli’s responsibilities include project management, construction management and design development of roadway, private land development, commercial, and industrial projects including office buildings, high-rise residential towers, residential subdivisions, restaurants, shopping centers, warehouses, and parking facilities. Spanioli is currently involved in the construction management and administration of the civil engineering activities for the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami and will be the professional engineer if record certifying the completion of these activities. He was also involved in the design, permitting and construction administration of the Grand Prix of the Americas track and certified its completion to the City of Miami.
