| ENGINEERS NOMINATED BY THE CHINESE INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERS / USA Jerry Lin, Ph.D., an engineer at Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas, is an expert in circuit design and semiconductor physics. Lin has been working on state-of-the-art nanometer-scale semiconductor processes and circuit designs. He engineered a power-efficient analog-to-digital converter widely used in cellular phones today. The converter dramatically increases cellular phone talk time and stand-by time. Lin also designed telecommunications transceiver circuits widely used in telecommunication switches and routers to control/direct internet traffic. Andrew Sung, an engineer at Priority IT in Houston, Texas, has been involved in projects at the forefront of some of the latest trends in e-commerce. Sung was a member of a team that developed and delivered one of the extensive web sites for a Fortune 50 computer company. The website hosted most of the company’s public consumer websites and all of its global and major account commercial extranets. Features included custom pricing for every customer, multiple languages, currencies, and workflow. Sung also helped deliver an enterprise content management system for a Fortune 100 retail company. Previously, it could take product changes to the client’s consumer website up to six weeks to be done because of the inefficiencies in the process. The content management system streamlined the process down to three days. |
