Engineers Make a World of Difference

Extraordinary Women Engineers Project

Today, just 20 percent of undergraduate engineering students are women.

Even more astounding is the number of women engineers in the professional workforce - less than ten percent!

The Extraordinary Women Engineers Project is an unprecedented awareness and outreach program designed to encourage young women to choose engineering as a career and to develop a new generation of role models for those already in the field.

What Do Girls Want?

What motivates the career decisions of teenage girls? To find out, the Extraordinary Women Engineers Project conducted research to examine why academically-prepared young women do not consider engineering a desirable profession.

"Changing Our World"

The Extraordinary Women Engineers Project Coalition (EWEP) has released "Changing Our World: True Stories of Women Engineers", a colorful, 256-page celebration of the contributions of women engineers to every aspect of modern life. The book is a collaborative effort of many different individuals and organizations to address the long-standing under-representation of women in the engineering profession. Click on the book for more information.
