Summary
Over the course of Engineering Week, we held a number of competitions called the Engineering Olympics. These games consisted of Tallest Tower Design, Best Bridge Design (measured how much weight it could hold), Best Paper Airplane (distance measured), orange pass, and the three-legged race. In addition, a "Jeopardy" contest was held with categories covering all of the Engineering curriculums on campus. Each organization (or anyone else interested) was allowed to send as many teams as they wanted. Points were counted for each event and whoever had the most points at the end of the week won! There were prizes awarded for first through third place.
Funding Sources For the prizes, we were able to obtain donations of gift certificates for local restaurants. However, the money we did use came from the Engineering Department.
Comments We had a great time. This event has been done and varied upon every year by each new Chapter President since 1996. It is always a fun event to plan and participate in. I recommend this as an event for all colleges to participate in.
