“Once Upon a Time: Goldilocks and The Three Bears”
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. She went for a walk in the forest. She started to feel a little lost, and she came upon a house. The front door was unlocked, so she walked in. A loud alarm sounded for a minute and then stopped.
“Hello!” called Goldilocks. No one answered. On the kitchen table, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was very hungry from her long walk in the forest. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl, but it was too hot. She took an ice cube from the refrigerator’s dispenser and put it in the bowl to cool. She tasted the porridge from the second bowl, but it was too cold. She warmed it for thirty seconds in the microwave, but then it was too hot. She tasted the last bowl of porridge. “This porridge is just right,” she said happily, then ate it all up. After that, she rinsed the empty dish and put it in the dishwasher.
Goldilocks walked into the next room; almost tripping on the automatic vacuum cleaner which was roaming around on the floor. She spotted a computer that was turned on, and sat down on the office chair. She typed in her home address and current location on Mapquest.com, and got some directions back to her house. After she printed the directions on the nearby laser printer, she decided to call home. Goldilocks took out her cell phone and dialed the number. The answering machine picked up, so Goldilocks left a message that she would be home by suppertime.
Goldilocks noticed three comfy chairs in the office/family room. She sat in the first chair. “This reclining chair has a built-in massage feature, but it is way too big,” she said. She tried the second chair. It was still too big. She sat in the last and smallest chair. It was just right. She used the television’s remote control to turn on the cartoon channel. Just as she got settled in the cozy chair, it broke into pieces!
Goldilocks was very tired now, so she went upstairs. She walked into the bedroom, and lay down on the first bed. It was made of wood and it was too hard. She tried the second bed, which was a heated waterbed. It was too soft. She climbed into the third bed, which was a jungle theme bunk bed with a slide! It was just right, and Goldilocks fell asleep.
As she was sleeping, three bears who had heard their house alarm came rushing home. They hurried into the kitchen. “Someone’s been eating my porridge,” growled the Papa Bear. “Someone’s been eating my porridge,” growled the Mama Bear. “Someone’s been eating my porridge, and it’s all gone!” cried the Baby Bear.
The Bears walked into the living room. “Someone’s been using the computer and watching the television!” growled Papa Bear. “Someone’s also been sitting in my massaging recliner chair,” he added. “Someone’s been sitting in my comfy chair,” growled Mama Bear. “Someone’s been sitting in my television chair, and it’s smashed into pieces,” cried Baby Bear.
The Bears decided to head upstairs to the bedroom. “Someone’s been sleeping in my futon bed,” growled Papa Bear. “Someone’s been sleeping in my waterbed,” growled Mama Bear. “Someone’s been sleeping in my jungle bunk bed, and she’s still there!” cried Baby Bear. Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears. She grabbed her cell phone and printed directions. She flew down the bunk bed slide and ran as fast as she could out of the Bear’s house. She never returned to that part of the forest again (without directions)!
