Every day everyone benefits from the work of engineers. Engineers design, build, manufacture, research and develop products, structures and machines. They are members of the U.S. Congress, chief executives of major corporations and government agencies and even television personalities. Meet an engineer online. There are more than 1.9 million engineers in the U.S., according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
