ENGINEERING HOUSEHOLD ENERGY: How bringing questions of efficiency and power supply into your living room helps change the world (Live Audiocast with PPT) – Hosted by 3CE
This forum will address the potential to significantly impact residential energy consumption, a large fraction of overall energy consumption, through key decisions related to (a) energy efficient lighting and appliances within the home and (b) renewable energy to power the home. The goal is to highlight the possibilities of making a difference, both professionally and domestically, to women in engineering and technology. The energy efficiency discussion will focus on a case study of cooperation between the U.S., Indian and other governments under the Clean Energy Ministerial to deploy super-efficient appliances. The renewable energy discussion will focus on options for consumers who wish to buy renewable or distributed power for their homes, via green power arrangements and other programs offered by utilities in many areas.
