Uma S joined Motorola India in Jan 1992 and has been with Motorola India for the past 14 years. She has worked on Software solutions for the past 16 years in Motorola that includes Protocol stack development, Bluetooth, WLAN, UMA development and integration on embedded platform.

She is currently leading Feature and Mass market teams managing Device Technologies, Mass Market and ROKR franchise engineering teams in Bangalore. Prior to joining Motorola India, she worked as Research Associate for a year at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on Speaker Independent Digit recognition algorithms. 

Uma S holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, India. She has published papers on “Time Normalization techniques for speaker independent Isolated word Recognition” to 11th IAPR IC on Pattern Recognition and “H.261 & H.263 Decoder on DSP 56303” in 7th ICSPAT.
