Soumitra Sana

Mr Soumitra Sana, or Sammy, as he is popularly known, is the Country President of Motorola India and the Managing Director of Motorola Software Group’s India Design Center.

As the country president, Mr Sana champions Motorola’s vast business interests in India, which includes R&D, Manufacturing and Sales, to maximize their performance in the country.

As the Managing Director of the software design center, Mr. Sana oversees the operations of Motorola’s largest software design center and has been the driving force in making it the most recognized and successful among Motorola’s design centers.

A veteran of 24 years in the communication industry, Mr Sana has extensive experience in managing global engineering operations and the development of cellular and broadband infrastructure products.

After graduating from IIT Kharagpur, Mr Sana spent fifteen years in Canada as manager of global development teams and hardware and software developer of wire-line Networking products. He returned to India in 1997 to lead Motorola’s software R&D operations and has been at its helm since then.

An avid reader, Mr Sana’s interests range from science and technology to history and biography. Gardening is his other passion. Mr. Sana lives in Bangalore with his wife and two children.
