| Engineers Week 2005 Final Report It’s a big world after all. For the first time, Engineers Week’s corporate chair was headquartered outside the United States, bringing a more global perspective to Engineers Week and the engineering community. Engineers Week 2005, February 20-26, was chaired by Honorary Chair John Browne, Group Chief Executive, BP p.l.c., and Chair Victoria Rockwell, senior vice president of ASME. National Engineers Week, founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers and sponsored by more than 100 engineering, scientific, and education societies and major corporations, is dedicated to increasing public awareness and appreciation of engineers and to promoting pre-college interest in math, science, and engineering as a career option.
